About
Hello and nice to have you here
I am a Heidelberg, Germany-based graphic designer specializing in art and photo books, with clients mainly in the cultural field.
My work is driven by the conviction that a book’s design should not only be beautiful and functional, but also capture the mood and the underlying tones of its content — whether this is reflected in the overall aesthetic, in subtle hints and references, or a bold visual statement. In close collaboration with my clients, I make sure that layout, typography, image sequencing, materials, scale, weight, and tactile aspects are considered as a whole, with each element chosen for a reason.
.
.
With my foundations in graphic design laid at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart (Diplom degree), I have been working as an independent designer as well as in art publishing houses (Kehrer Verlag, modo Verlag) for over fifteen years. Being also an art historian and musicologist (BA from Heidelberg University) and having worked as a musicologist and editor, I bring a sensitivity to the written word as well as an understanding of cultural contexts to your project.
Depending on your individual needs, I offer layouting and typesetting and/or support with the steps ahead — from conceptualizing and envisioning your project as a book, to discussing and narrowing down options, editorially as much as regarding the manifold printing and binding options available.
Let’s get in touch!
