Tara Bogart
A Modern Hair Study
An 1856 photograph by Nadar, held in the Bibliothèque nationale de Paris, inspired Tara Bogart’s photo series, in which she explores beauty standards and the search for individuality among today’s young women.
The book’s design seeks to capture the unique blend of intimacy and archival rigor found in the series. Drawing on historical French typography, it incorporates the »vue de dos« (»seen from behind«) theme, with the essay titles showing through the paper and the book’s title placed on the back cover.
Published by Kehrer Verlag // Texts: Heloise Conesa, Caroline Weber // Cloth hardcover, 120 pages, 16,5 x 23,3 cm // ISBN 978-3-86828-757-8
