Thomas Brasey’s research based project traces the journey of Swiss migrants to Brazil in the early 1800s.

The colour palette and cover typography evoke themes of nautics and navigation. The book as an object mirrors this: its cleverly folded dust jacket forms a pocket, in which the smaller booklet and leporello can be stored like travel documents. By separating the image captions, personal accounts, and essays into distinct sections, the book invites the viewer to engage with the project’s reconstructive nature.
